ribs 2-10 = typical ribs attach by their own costal cartillage to the sternum and they all look typical to one another
Rib1, 11, 12 = A-typical ribs
Rib 1 = wider flatter, different grooves, it attaches with only 1 vertebrae
True Ribs = ribs that attach to the sternum via their own costal cartilages
True ribs = 1-7
False ribs = 9-10
Floating ribs = 11 + 12
each rib attaches to the superior demi-facet of its corresponding vertebrae (eg rib 7 attached to superior demifacet of T7) and the inferior demi-facet of the vertebrae that is above the ribs level (eg rib 7 attached to the inferior demifacet of T6 and the superior demifacet of T7 then rib 8 will attach to the inferior demifacet of T7 and the superior demifacet of T8)
the exceptions are.. T1 has one and a half demifacets one is solely for Rib 1 and the inferior demifacet is for T2 and the process continues as normal

T10 where the superior de
