Specify the importance of the brainstem's location
Identify three main anatomical parts making up the brainstem
Midbrain
Pons
Medulla

Superior colliculus = Visual stimulus + reactions to things within our visual field
Inferior colliculus = Hearing stimulus + reactions to hearing
Cerebella peduncles = The cerebellum is connected to the rest of the nervous system by three pairs of peduncles, or feet. The cerebellar peduncles anchor the cerebellum to the brainstem. all afferent and efferent signals from the cerebellum pass through these 3 pairs of cerebella peduncles
Cuneate and Gracile tubercles = these mark the location of the respective fasiculus grasilis and fasiculus cuneatus primary to secondary neuron synapsing
