the liver has lots of different lobes - Quadrate, left, right and Caudate lobes

within each lobe type there are sub types eg =right anterior inferior or left lateral inferior

the liver has 3 major functions

• metabolic function
• storage of glycogen
• secretion of bile

the liver is bordered

superiorly by the right hemi diaphragm

inferiorly by the gallbladder
