There are many different theories about pain…
what is the gate control theory
there is a gating mechanism in the dorsal horn of the spinal cord which opens or closes the transmission of pain impulses
certain triggers open the gate and some close the gate

what is the Biopsychosocial model of pain
It includes cognitive, affective and behavioural components of pain
it includes cognitive, affective and behavioural components of pain (basically what it says on the tin)
it views illness as a dynamic and reciprocal interaction among biological, psychological and sociocultural variabkes that shape a persons response to pain (a persons experiences will affect how they percieve pain)

what is the cognitive-behavioural perspective
Emphasis on people's idiosyncratic beliefs, appraisals and coping repertoires as well as sensory affective and behavioural contributions in the formation of pain perceptions
basically the more and more somoene focuses on their pain the worse it is rather than if someone recognises it as minor and carrie son with their life
