off-label - a drug that has a medicinal value for something it is not prescribed for example such as something is prescribed for bi polar disorder but helps with epilepsy but is not labeled to do so.

unlicensed - something that has not been licensed e.g. is a derivative of meth but has medicinal value however licensing it would be a struggle as it technically contains meth and so if it got into the wrong hands it would be bad. usually senior doctors such as consultants prescribe these type of drugs it is not an FY1’s job

there is a barcode present on official drug boxes which can be scanned by the pharmasist/doctor before giving it out to the patients that require it. this eliminates the risk of fake products. Also there are special seals put on boxes which will show if a box has been openend and therefore products potentially swapped.
