how does multi-sensory integration work to effect motor output?
1 sensory info projected to primary cortical areas (eg vision, auditory, somatosensory)
2 information is passed to the sensory association areas in the parietal and temporal lobe for integration
3 integrated info is then shared with the supplementary motor cortex which is processed. then sent to pre and motor cortex areas for incorporpratation of sensory input into planned integrated motor events
what is synaesthesia
the conflation of sensory experiences from one sensory domain with those from another
eg can see sounds or taste words
it is a merging of sensations from a stimulis that shouldn't give you this stimuli
